Andrade El Idolo Teases AEW Departure AEW Star Andrade Say -  "I Just Want To Say Thank You! Bye..." Andrade hit Instagram  to post a series of images on Monday. The cover was an AEW shot of him staring at the black mask he wears during his ring entrances, with the small gallery including further images of the mask as well as a cropped picture of his "How You Know?" catchphrase. That El Idolo remains absent from AEW television weeks after a backstage fracas with Sammy Guevara makes this an interesting post. Said incident came amidst reports that multiple AEW wrestlers had requested their release, perhaps spurred by WWE reaching out to contracted stars over potential Stamford returns, though there was never confirmation that Andrade was amongst this group. Let's See What's Future Holds for Andrade El idolo. Check Out Our Latest AEW News Video for More Information.

Former WWE Announcer Tom Phillips Debuts On Impact Wrestling Hard to Kill PPV

Image
Renee Paquette took to Twitter earlier today and revealed that her friend and former WWE announcer, Tom Hannifan (Tom Phillips), will be joining Impact for commentary during tonight’s  Hard To Kill  event. Hannifan was also spotted in Dallas this morning, leading to some speculation prior to the announcement, according to PWIinsider . He replaces Matt Striker on the announce team who, as we noted, revealed earlier this week that he is done with Impact Wrestling. D’Lo Brown, however, will remain on the commentary team and will be beside Hannifan to call the play-by-play for  Hard To Kill . The duo will be the new team going forward on Impact on AXS TV as of this Thursday’s episode. Hannifan, age 32, was a part of WWE’s staff from 2012 through May 2021 when he was released by the company along with multiple other employees. Check Out This Video Now -

AEW Battle of the Belts 2021 Results, New Interm TNT Champion Crown & More

Show Start - Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, and Jim Ross were on the call. David Crockett was ringside to present the championship to the winner. Interim TNT Championship: Sammy Guevara defeated Dustin Rhodes (w/ Arn Anderson) The crowd was hot for this one, but this was the first time I've really felt like Dustin's age caught up to him in AEW. Parts of it felt like they were in slow motion. On a Match Ending Moments Dustin hit two Cross Rhodes. He teased the Tiger Driver, but Guevara escaped and downed Dustin with a kick. A quick cradle exchange later and Guevara pinned Dustin to win the interim title.  After the match, David Crockett presented the title. Daniel Garcia entered the ring and slapped Guevara before they brawled, forcing officials to come out and separate them.  After a commercial, Guevara challenged Garcia to a TNT Championship match on Dynamite. Taz joined commentary for This One. FTW Championship: Ricky Starks (c) (w/ Powerhouse Hobbs) defeated Matt Sydal  After

New Name Revealed for AEW Version Undisputed Era Faction

Image
Now that Adam Cole, Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly have reunited in AEW, a potential faction name for them has been making the rounds on social media lately. On January 3, AEW filed two trademark rights to the word "Paragon," one being for the word itself and the second one being for its logo. AEW filed a trademark for the term Paragon on 1/3/22. Kyle O'Reilly used that term to state the potential that he, Adam Cole, and Bobby Fish, the former Undisputed ERA in NXT, would have if they were aligned again in AEW. Backstage Report On Marko Stunt Leaving AEW

Image
Marko Stunt has been out of action for AEW for a while now, which has led to speculation on his status with the company. In an update, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Stunt is still under contract and is still being paid by AEW. It was noted that AEW is trying to be different from WWE by not releasing people who are under contract, unless it’s for disciplinary reasons, but there will be contracts that are not renewed when their deals come up if they are not being used. This does not necessarily mean AEW will pass on renewing Stunt’s deal when his contract comes up, but The Observer pointed to how significant it is that Stunt wasn’t used when Jurassic Express won the AEW Tag Team Titles from The Lucha Brothers this week. Stunt has not wrestled for AEW since teaming with Fuego del Sol for a loss to Shawn Spears and Wardlow on the October 4 Elevation episode, which was taped on September 29.
